Gentle cleaning setup for colored moissanite and sterling silver jewelry

Care guide

Keep the color luminous

Simple, regular care helps preserve sparkle, silver finish and setting security.

Wear thoughtfully

Put jewelry on after perfume, lotion, makeup and hairspray. Remove it before swimming, showering, sleeping, exercise and household cleaning.

Store separately

Use a soft pouch or lined compartment. Keeping pieces apart helps reduce scratches, tangles and pressure on prongs.

Check the setting

If a stone moves, a prong catches or the piece takes a hard knock, stop wearing it and arrange an inspection.

A gentle cleaning routine

  1. Prepare. Mix a small amount of mild dish soap with warm, not hot, water.
  2. Soak briefly. Let the piece rest for a few minutes unless a style-specific instruction says otherwise.
  3. Brush softly. Use a very soft, clean brush around and beneath the setting without forcing the prongs.
  4. Rinse carefully. Use clean water over a closed drain or a separate bowl.
  5. Dry completely. Pat dry with a clean lint-free cloth and allow the piece to air dry before storage.

What to avoid

Avoid bleach, chlorine, toothpaste, abrasive powders, rough polishing cloths and strong household cleaners. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning are not appropriate for every setting or surface finish; ask a qualified jeweler before using either method.

About sterling silver tarnish

Tarnish is a normal surface reaction and does not mean the silver is defective. Store pieces dry and use a silver-appropriate, non-abrasive cloth with gentle pressure. Keep polishing products away from the gemstone when possible.
